Letter from the President![]() Dear KYACDA Members and Friends,
It has been quite a strange season and I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe during this unprecedented time. The KYACDA leadership team has been meeting and brainstorming to determine what we both can do and what is not safe to do. The purpose of this communication is to let you know that we have made some decisions going forward and while we are saddened by some of the necessary changes, we are also excited for some new initiatives that we are rolling out today. I regret to inform you that the Fall All-State Convocation 2020 is officially cancelled. After consulting with public health leaders in the state, the determination is that there is not a safe way to put 550-600 singers and their families together this fall and keep everyone healthy. Our current plan is to resume all-state 2021. As of now, the date is 5-6 November 2021. Please mark your calendar and let’s stay healthy! We are launching multiple initiatives today and hope you will participate! In this uncertain time, we have decided to offer all things free and open with preregistration. Initially, all openings will be for Kentucky teachers, but we will consider opening to a broader audience if space allows. We want to be here to SERVE YOU! We hope you will let us do that this year. While this year is a strange one, let’s lean in together and find ways to work together to keep choral music alive and well in this state. I am proud to know you and to love what we do so deeply. Best, Dr. Jill Campbell KYACDA President |
